DarkHorse AI Integration & Automation is the AI division of DarkHorse IT, based in Moorhead, Minnesota, serving the Fargo-Moorhead business community. We deliver AI consulting, automation, agentic systems, and education for businesses and agencies that want to use AI carefully.
The company
DarkHorse IT is a family owned and run business that has been the team businesses in the Fargo-Moorhead area call when downtime is not an option. We started in 2017 with managed IT, expanded into cybersecurity, and now run a full AI division through DarkHorse AI.
DarkHorse AI exists because there is a real difference between buying an AI tool and integrating AI into a business safely. We do the second one. Strategy, automation, agentic workflows, classes, private AI deployments, and the security thinking that keeps it all defensible.
We do not chase trends. We name the model, the tool, and the cost. We tell you when AI is the wrong answer.
The team
Jeff Carney, founder
35 years of hands-on technology experience, every layer of the stack, every operating system, and every hard lesson that only comes from doing the work. Jeff was operating online systems before most people had internet access. Credentials: CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Heald College associate degree.
Mona Carney, co-owner
Jeff’s wife and business partner. Mona brings her own IT background to the company and is a power user of AI in her day-to-day work, which sharpens how we teach, document, and deliver. She is part of the reason our materials read like a human wrote them.
Part-time staff support
A part-time team member backs up day-to-day operations so we keep delivery on schedule without dropping the quality bar.

A long-time mentor and business partner based in Silicon Valley keeps us close to how AI is built, scaled, and shipped at the source. It is one of the reasons we can speak straight about what is realistic and what is hype.
